McConaughey is no stranger to HBO audiences, having received an Emmy nomimation for his time on the hit first season of the premium cabler’s police drama “True Detective.” He won the Academy Award for best actor for his role in the film “Dallas Buyers Club” in 2013. According to sources, no writer is currently attached to adapt the book, but Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is onboard as an executive producer. A Time for Mercy is a fantastic, fancinating, courtroom drama with Jake Brigance providing surprises that rock Clanton to it’s core.
